"ECO LIFE"

Like a snail, the creation of the artwork was slow and exposed, and somewhat defenseless from time. While time felt like my predator, it was also my ally and collaborator. I was in a frenzy to produce the miniature watercolors and harvest vigor and gusto from my labor. Tiny papers were numbered and stacked, waiting to be next. Black and gold watercolor trays were never closed and slimy, moon-water was changed every three days. My brushes were aligned by size, clean and tidy. Number 2h pencil was there and so was the white color pencil and so were the others. I sharpened points every five minutes to get into the smallest crevice. I loved it all. Like the snail, I slithered to my sustenance, my artist’s tools, to nourish my spirit. Like a snail, I trailed and aerated my imagination leaving behind a path for unsoiled growth and joy.
