Symbols of the Land is an ongoing painting class for adults inspired by the objects and imagery that represent life and culture in Texas. Each week, students will paint a different Texas-inspired subject such as hats, boots, longhorns, barns, native flowers, tools, and other familiar symbols rooted in the landscape and history of the region.

This class focuses on observation, shape, color, and texture, helping students learn how to translate everyday objects into strong painted compositions. Lessons may include basic drawing for painters, color mixing, and brush techniques while encouraging personal interpretation rather than strict realism.
